Bob Marley, born Robert Nesta Marley, was born February 6, 1945 in Saint Ann, Jamaica. Marley's primary genre's were reggae, ska, and rocksteady. His musical career began while he was in his late teen years as he became a member of the group "The Teenagers", later known as "The Wailers".He remained the group until his death on May 11, 1981. Marley's cause of death was a severe case of melanoma(skin cancer) to his lungs and brain.  In 1984, Bob Marley was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Bob Marley had the special belief that we could literally heal others through music. His songs reflected this by their lyrics. Most of his songs aimed at changing political injustices, racial inequality, and economic, as well as social, deprivation. His music impacted many and his voice still echoes amongst us today.
